Purrfect Smiles was created by shelter volunteers in March 2016 to help raise needed funds to provide medical treatment, enrichment activities and boarding services for cats. Unfortunately, because many medical and dental procedures require specialty training and equipment, most cats that enter the shelter system cannot receive such treatment and face euthanasia. Animals should not have to be euthanized for something that is easily treatable. We are working closely with several local veterinarians to provide discounted treatment and services. However, even with a discount, cost for dental treatment with major extractions could be as high as $1000 per cat. We raise funds by organizing various fundraisers throughout the year.
