All hybrid or designer dogs are tough to get a good read on as there isn’t much history to them. Drentsche Patrijshond - Dutch Partridge Dog History

The Drentsche Patrijshond is a Spaniel breed that can be dated back to the 16th century Netherlands. It more than likely began as breeds from France, Spain, and Germany. In their home country of the Netherlands they were typically referred to as partridge dogs. They were obviously used for hunting and more specifically retrieving game birds. However, they were also good at hunting vermin and all around farm dogs. They are recognized by many Kennel clubs throughout the world.

Giant Schnauzer History

The Giant Schnauzer was developed in Germany. She is the largest of the three Schnauzer breeds. Like virtually all dogs they were bred for a purpose. Hers was to drive cattle. This cattle instinct got them working directly in butcher shops and stockyards. They also made good guard dogs at various places.
No one really knows for sure, but Giant Schnauzer was more than likely created by crossing the Standard Schnauzer with larger smooth-coated dogs, rough-haired sheepdogs, and the black Great Dane. By looking at their appearance the Bouvier des Flandres was more than likely mixed in there as well. Over time their primary role went from stock work to police work. This transition happened in the early twentieth century. They are recognized by the American Kennel Club but are not a very common breed.
