Perro de Presa Canario History
The Perro de Presa Canario is a large Molosser-type dog breed originally bred for working livestock. Other names it goes by are the Canary Mastiff, Canary Catch Dog, Canarian Dogo, and Dogo Canario. As you might start to notice, virtually all dogs were bred to work livestock or hunt originally. The name of the breed is Spanish, means "Canarian catch dog.” The breed is sometimes also called Dogo Canario, meaning "Canarian Molosser.”
This is an old breed that dates back as far as the 16th century, the Presa Canario has been mentioned in documents of the Canary Islands. It is assumed that it was introduced into the Islands by the Conquistadors and Spanish Colonialists. With time and in isolation it has become breed in its own right.
Rat Terrier History
This is an American bred dog bred to be a working dog. Being that they are so small, they were bred to act as a hunter and a farm dog to hunt pests like rats and other vermin. They needed them to be fast and able to catch animals as quick as rabbits. Today the Rat Terrier is a stubborn but intelligent dog who is wary of strangers. While they will be good with a family even if not properly socialized they may be aggressive to other pets and strangers. They have a lot of courage and are very good at detecting the mood you are in. They want to please and are affectionate but he needs a lot of exercise or he can become poorly behaved.
